Food Processing Wastewater Challenge
A large food and beverage processing plant in Shandong needed to upgrade its wastewater treatment system to meet stringent new discharge standards while handling variable organic loads.
The Challenge
The facility processes over 200 tons of food products daily, generating wastewater with high concentrations of BOD, COD, oils, fats, and suspended solids. The existing treatment system was unable to consistently meet the revised discharge standards (COD < 50 mg/L).

Treatment Process Design
Soto Machinery engineered a two-stage treatment system combining Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) with MBR Membrane Bioreactor technology for optimal performance.

Coarse and fine screens remove large solids. Equalization tank balances flow and load fluctuations.

DAF Pre-Treatment (FOG/SS removal)
Dissolved Air Flotation removes FOG, suspended solids, and reduces COD by 40-60% through micro-bubble flotation.

MBR Biological Treatment
Membrane Bioreactor combines aerobic biological treatment with ultrafiltration membranes for high-quality effluent.
